Value Institute Partners with Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for the RETAIN Project

Managing Director Scott Wallace and Experience Group Manager Chris Ulack are partnering with a team at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for the RETAIN (Retaining Employment and Talent after Injury/Illness Network) project which is a collaborative effort led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP).

The goals of the project are two-fold: 1) to increase employment retention and labor force participation of individuals who acquire, and/or are at risk of developing, work disabilities and; 2) to reduce long-term work disability among project participants, including the need for Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income. Scott and Chris are working with the team to conduct qualitative research using the Experience Group methodology to better understand the unmet needs and outcomes that matter most to people experiencing work disability as well as other stakeholders in the process, such as providers and employers.
