Strategy for Health Care Transformation - Executive Education

March 1 & 8 (both dates required). Online. 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM CT

While most health care organizations have a strategic plan, relatively few have a clear strategy. Strategy encompasses the decisions an organization makes about the tightly-connected activities that enable it to uniquely serve its patients, as well as the trade-offs inherent in those activities. This multi-day interactive program teaches participants how to build, assess, and improve strategy within their organization. Participants will define strategy and learn why it is critically needed in health care. Through case discussions and overview presentations, participants will discover how a value-based strategy improves outcomes and activates new dimensions of growth.

Learning objectives:

  • Align enterprise strategy with the purpose of the organization

  • Integrate strategy, culture, and measurement to enable transformation

  • Distinguish a strategic plan from a strategy

  • Identify an organization’s distinctive strategic opportunities

  • Evaluate the role of measurement in transforming the organization’s strategy and culture

  • Discuss how to enable high value growth

Cost: $950

Measuring What Matters (Executive Education)

Price: $950

The goal of health care is to create value by improving the outcomes that matter to patients for the money spent to achieve those outcomes. This workshop will focus on the “how to” of outcomes measurement, including where to start, what measures to use, how to begin using available tools for data collection, and how registries are used.

Participants will get to know the Capability, Comfort, and Calm framework, which simplifies and streamlines outcome measurement and evaluation. Participants also will discuss how to create and support a learning culture that overcomes barriers to measurement and enables continuous care delivery improvement.

This workshop will be led by Dell Medical School faculty Elizabeth Teisberg, PhD; Scott Wallace, JD, MBA; Alice Andrews, PhD; Kathy Carberry, RN, MPH; and Christina Åkerman, MD, PhD, the former president of the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM).
