Why are you excited about the MS in Health Care Transformation Program?

I am energized by the thought of engaging in erudite discussion and focused problem solving to create valid, applicable solutions that will increase positive experiences for patients, providers, communities, and payer sources across complex systems of care. I hope to be part of an enthusiastic, dedicated, and compassionate cohort of professionals striving for the same goal-delivering thoughtful, person-centered, quality care.

What do you hope to get out of the program?

Over the past several years, I had the opportunity to work directly with health plans, primary care practices, behavioral health organizations, and social services agencies through a unique demonstration of payment reform. The lessons learned from this project solidified the profound difficulties faced by all aspects of the health care continuum. Through the MS in Health Care Transformation program, I hope to appreciate the complexities better, understand the nuanced challenges, and focus on the future of how we can enhance, promote, pay for, and evaluate patient care.

How do you want to transform health care?

I am “all in” when it comes to innovation! I aspire to combine my professional “real world” experiences with the knowledge gained through this program to help conceptualize health care systems that are assessable, equitable, easily navigated, and non-stigmatized.

Anything else you want us to know about you or your health care journey?

Change happens within the context of relationships. We have an amazing opportunity, as catalysts for change, to cultivate strong partnerships across the bio-psycho-social domains of the health care continuum to facilitate exemplary health and wellness in our communities.
