Why are you excited about the MS in Health Care Transformation Program?

I’m thrilled to be selected for the UT Austin MS Health Care Transformation 2021 cohort! I’m excited to discover value-added methods of health care delivery using practical applications versus theoretical approaches.

What do you hope to get out of the program?

I hope to gain skills to create new solutions or integrate better ones into the current business of medicine.

How do you want to transform health care?

I have personally experienced the obstacles that many military members, their families, and retirees/veterans encounter while trying to acquire medical care. I want to bridge the gap of communication and utilize the knowledge and experiences of patients and end-users into the changes that are needed.

Anything else you want us to know about you or your health care journey?

I began my medical education and training at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, which is home to the Medical Center of Excellence for all branches of service. I proudly served more than 24 years in the US Army before retiring. I still have a passion for medicine and to continue helping people.

I respectfully embrace this opportunity to give back to those who have served and still dedicate their lives to our country.
