Nurses and Value in Health Care

Outcomes Program Officer Kathleen Carberry, RN, MPH, delivered a thought-provoking lecture, “Creating Value in Health Care and the Critical Role that Nurses Play,” at the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses’ state conference on May 23. The conference offered the latest in women’s health, obstetrics, and neonatal nursing.

VI and UAGM

When travel restrictions due to the pandemic hit, Prof. Scott Wallace, Director of Education Prof. Alice Andrews, and Instructional Technology Manager Kasey Ford converted an in-person three-day executive education program on value-based health care at the Universidad Ana G. Méndez to an online format using the Moodle learning platform. Approximately 50 students and preceptors in the UAGM program to train advanced practice nurses will go through the executive education program in June 2020.

Prof. Elizabeth Teisberg was a guest speaker at the AAOS Presidential Symposium on May 27. The event focused on the future of value-based musculoskeletal care and attendees explored and discussed timely concepts and practical steps to thrive in this new arena, where quality, value, and outcomes are at the forefront.
